 I am planning a holiday at a conference centre and they might not be able to provide a room with step free access. What if the room is ground floor, but has a high step into the min shower and basin and toilet area?

When I was a child, every bedroom at home or in a hotel, had a potty under the bed or in the bedside table, (Americans call it a night stand). As far as I remember, they did not have the sophistication of a lid, wwhich would have got in the way of the user in the dark. You left a tip for the chamber maid who emptied the potty in the morning.

It looks like those concertina plastic cups which collapse and expand. I must admit, my experience is that they collapse when you are using them, spillig water. Could it be used in hotels? Or for invalids?

Would it save women in countries like India from risking going out at night when they could be attacked, robbed, raped?
