Time, tide and weather reports are printed in local and national newspapers. You may be able to read them online on your mobile phone. 

Or pick up free newspapers in supermarkets and train stations at your destination. 

Supermarkets' own newspers will remind you of local national holidays and special seasonal food and drink. Also look for discounts in local supermarkets and restaurants and attractions.
