Flowers and fish decorate postboxes in London - or DIY your own downloading patterns

 On a lovely sunny day in London, bright sun and blue skies. Post boxes are decorated with flowers and fish scenes, made by groups keen on knitting and crochet. For a jolly start to June.

Americans call post boxes mail boxes. In London post boxes which are this shape are also called pillar boxes.

Christmas Tree & Tree Decorations in the Lobby of the Tanglin Club, Singapore

The tree is the centrepiece of the lobby. The tree is even better close up. You can admire the individual decorations. I liked the snow-capped roof and the arched windows on the model building.

I wonder how many people spent how many hours decorating the tree.

The official Xmas tree light up is on Sunday, November 27th, the last weekend in November.

Legend says that Xmas trees were originally brought into homes in Germany and northern Europe in the darkest months and used as supports for candles. (A bit of a fire risk. Nowadays, for convenience and safety, we have artificial trees and electric lights with circuit breakers.)

The event will include Santa Claus posing for photos with children and families. (Judging by last year, you may have to queue - Americans say line up.) Members can also expect light refreshments and entertainment from a choir and stilt walkers.

Changi Airport Eggs Decoration - Opportunity For A Selfie

Problem
Easter is over. But Changi Airport in Singapore, often voted the world's best airport, has invested time and money in a lovely Easter decoration of eggs.

Answer
Never mind. It can stay up. Eggs are eaten all year. It provides a photo opportunity for mothers and children.

Changi airport always has seasonal decorations. Usually the right season.

Last month my family met our friends who were transiting through Singapore. The visitors arrived at Terminal 2 and left from Terminal 3, where the airport hotel is situated. You can take a free train from one terminal to the next. Or trundle your suitcase on wheels along the pedestrian subway under the four lanes of traffic. But the visitors preferred to take a taxi. The hotel in the airport has a bar where you can meet.

Rococo Chocolates London

Chocolate shops - wander in at your peril. They are all terribly tempting and terribly expensive. I asked, "Any special offers?" We fell for the four chocolate blocks for £16. They are usually £4.50 each and we would have bought two. We chose Lavender, Crystallised Ginger, Rococo Rose and Orange and Geranium. The heart shape chocolates and boxes are great for special occasions. I liked what I thought was a chocolate tree, gold leaves and gold foil wrapped chocolates - turns out the gold decorations are Balinese wood painted gold. But what a great idea, a chocolate tree. Just don't turn on the fire, or candles or all your chocolate decorations will melt! 

Where is it? Just round the corner from Belgrave Square, with all the embassies, and Petrus restaurant.
