Flag of Vietnam.
The View
The amusingly and confusingly named Authentic hotel had a rooftop restaurant with indoor and outdoor views over the lake. Great rooftop view and romantic American background music.
The Delightful Decor
The decor was a delight. The folded black napkins. Even the battery candles so realistic. I loved the balloons.
The Food
We ordered one steak with mushrooms, for him, and one chicken cordon bleu for her, me.
Elegant fruit juice. Toasted bread and butter came later. The waiter doesn't understand the word mustard.
My chicken was a solid piece of chicken, not the mangled morsels I had had at lunch time elsewhere (see previous post on The Rows). Western solid food in a very Vietnamese rooftop restaurant overlooking the lake.
We flew (at our own expense) on VietJetair, a budget airline, about which more later.
More details on the Sunline Paon, Japanese run hotel, later.
