Names of places teach you languages, and geography.
USA - Learn some Spanish
The angels is easy for most Americans. Los Angeles. Two words, plural the (I think of those), and angels.
Rio Grande in the USA is Spanish for big river.
What about China?
CHINA
I used to think that Beijing was in the South until I learned that its name means northern city or Northern capital. It is the most populous (people filled) capital in the world.
Easy to recognize the symbol for north. It looks like it ends with a letter t pointing upwards at the end. The second symbol is a square for centre. Think of all the people rushing to the centre of China, the capital city.
Shanghai means upon sea. Shang is upon. Hai is sea. The sign on the left is upon. The flagpole is upon the ground. The sign on the right is sea. The three little drops of water on the left, tiny lines, are the symbol for water.
(Chinese: 上海)
