Increasing numbers of streets and buses worldwide have video cameras. If you have had an item taken from a bus in Singapore, the customer relations office will give you a card with the HQ number to ring to ask them to re-olay a video - if you have a police report saying you have an item missing suspected stolen.
(Bear in mind that many pickpockets are so quick and light-fingered that you have know idea who took your item or when. You only realised later that something, or everything, has disappeared.)
You can them ring to report. But you must have the route number of the bus and numberplate. You can establish the route number of the bus and which bus from the travel card. You simply quote the long number on the card. They can then search their records for which bus you took on the date and time you supplied.
