Coffee capsule compatibility

I was just emailed an offer for a Lavazza machine. Wow. Great price. New colour blue. Pink might be too girly. But blue. That would do.

But I have been using Nespresso machines and a little red Krups machine which takes both Nespresso and Cafepod capsules. I have even been with family members who bought a small coffee maker for the bedroom when staying a week in a hotel (in Wales) which didn't serve acceptable coffee. The new coffee maker then took over in the kitchen where the smaller size took less space.

The old large coffee maker one stayed in storage, until it went in the boot of the car as backup for another holiday in France and Spain. (The British say boot of the car which means the trunk, which is the back lockable compartment if you are reading in the USA or want to know American English.)

On a long stay in Singapore we had a coffee maker, but had to hunt the nearby supermarkets to find who stocked a capsule which would fit. The upmarket supermarkets such as Jasons in the city centre near Orchard Road, and Marketplace had capsules.

But we needed a signal on our phones to connect to the internet and check compatibility. Searching reading and checkin is not easy on a mobile phone in an aisle with people milling about and pushing past. Also in a supermarket you are often in a hurry. Companions want a quick decision so you and they can get in the queue and go off home.

Therefore a printed list of compatible capsules is handy when you go shopping. In case you don't have a printer with you on holiday, you might want to check in advance which capsules you will need at your rental apartment or studio flat.

You find coffee machines on offer periodically. They come and go such as this one which was in Morrisons earlier this year:
