If you are teaching English or teaching schoolchildren in the UK, Europe or Asia, or sending your children to school in another country, you may find that you need to know The UK, USA and Singapore school year names are different.
In the UK you will find two years of infant school, aged 5 and 6. Then junior school, year one age 7. Then secondary school. Then sixth form or sixth form college. Then college or university (called uni for short).
The US and Singapore years are a year different.

This is slightly Americanised. In London I would never refer to a secondary high school, just a secondary school or a comprehensive or grammar school. In the old days we also had Secondary Modern schools.
