D comes from de meaning of.

Chocolates called d'or mean of gold.
Costa Duarada
Spanish gold coast, comes from the Latin aurum.

Numbers
Look at the Latin inscriptions on Roman ruins and learn the numbers so you can read the birth and death dates, or ages, of the deceased. Check the date of the inscription.

Once I looked at a house in the USA. I said to the family, "That house was built in 1804."
My family replied, "And the next one was built in 1806, the one after that in 1808."
