Yes, Christmas, or Xmas, has arrived in Singapore, zingy Xsingapore. From November 1st.

Canberra - the New Station
November 2nd a new station opened, called Canberra. But Canberra is in Australia.

Other place names from other countries you might spot are the English placenames of Dover (EW22 on the green East-West line' and Cornwall.

If you are in Singapore, you can ask at any MRT train station for the new map showing the new station. It is the top right corner of the red line which arches across the island. the new station is between Sembawang and Yishun.

The new station is numbered NS12. If you look at the old map, you will see the numbers jump from NS11 to NS13.

If you had lived in the area, you might have guessed that there was a station being built.

I remember the day I looked at the numbers on the new Downtown line extension.

My family moved to the Cashew area near Bukit Panjang 6 months before the new Cashew station opened.If you look at the MRT map you can see the numbers on the blue Downtown line jump from DT 3 Hillview to DT5 Beauty World. So MRT station DT 4 is on somebody's plan.However, it does not figure in the MRT lines' website which gives the plans for the next five years or more.

Meanwhile, just for fun, a summer flower, from tropical Singapore which will be hot at Christmas, hot all year.
