Which is the easiest language to learn? That is a common question on the Polyglots page in Facebook.
Webster simplified English spelling for immigrants to the USA.
The Chinese introduced simplified Chinese on mainland China to increase literacy for all.
It depends who you want to meet and speak to. Esperanto is easiest. It is a made up language. But fewer books and film and no country where all the signs are in the language. Maybe Esperanto speakers should set up an Esperanto city. Like the founder of Tel Aviv, stick a stick in the sand and say, our city will be here.
Monotone words and languages with no inflections are easiest to learn.
Chinese has four tones. But each syllable is distinct and with equal emphasis.
Sing-song languages are prettier. Italian. Welsh. You have to go to the country or learn from audio recordings or films (movies).
