Do You Need Hotel Coffee Cups, An Egg Delivery Or to Boil An Egg In A Kettle?

A lot of people in Singapore are stuck in hotels in a Stay Home Notice for two weeks. At their busy time the Orchard Hotel  had more than two hundred rooms occupied by families in lockdown.

We were in the Orchard Hotel.  Short of a coffee cup in a hotel? We travel with coffee cups. But one of ours broke. Luckily we had with us a thin glass.

Is it safe to put hot coffee in glass. Won't it break?

Cheap thick glasses might shatter with hot coffee, because the heat on one side is different from the cold the other side. A thinner glass allows the heat to pass all the way through fast enough to prevent the change causing the glass to crack. (So I was told by the family scientist.)

Now, how about a boiled egg for breakfast? Or if you missed dinner? We were making up an order to be delivered to a hotel in Singapore. How to make up the order to the minimum price needed for free delivery?

We added eggs. How to cook them? You can boil an egg in a kettle. My husband discovered this when he was a student in a bedsit.

Add vinegar or lemon juice if it might crack.
Start with cold water but timing is difficult.
Depends on size of egg and amount in water.
Then time depends on size of egg and if it has come out of the fridge it take longer to cook.
