Statue of Margaret Thatcher, Guildhall, London, England, UK
As a tourist, I love statues. They honour famous people. They are easy to find in public places. They make good photos. You can usually see them for free. Any time, day or night. No need to worry about opening times.
Debate is ongoing regarding a proposed statue of Margaret Thatcher in Grantham, her birthplace in England. The UK already has a statue of her in the palace of Westminster (houses of parliament). The USA has another one.
Who else has been honoured by a statue? Here's a list, alphabetically by name:
Anne Frank.
Outside Anne Frank House, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
Helen Keller.
USA
Margaret Thatcher
Hillsdale College, USA.
Florence Nightingale.
London, UK
Amy Winehouse
Camden, London, UK
Here they are by country:
UK
Florence Nightingale
Mary Seacole
Margaret Thatcher
Amy Winehouse
USA
Margaret Thatcher
Hillsdale College, Hillsdale County, Michigan, USA
Netherlands
Anne Frank, Amsterdam, Netherlands
