Face to Face Phoning Overseas - on Facebook Messenger

I just did my first face to face phone call on Facebook messenger. In fact, I didn't make the call. My friend Caroline called me to discuss the chapter of a book I am writing for her next book. I heard the phone ring and looked on my phone. Then I saw a message on my laptop screen. It asked me if I accepted. I did.\

I could hear her faintly. So I turned up the sound on a small amplifier I had plugged in. Hey presto - sound.

She asked, can you see me? I can only see your picture.

I scanned the screen. Like the zoom system with the strike through a microphone symbol for mute, there was a strike through a symbol for a video camera. I moved my mouse onto that and jiggled it and up came my picture complete with background on the lower right of the screen. She did the same and up popped her picture.
