Baner Cymru or Y Ddraig Goch, meaning 'the red dragon'. The green and white are the Tudor colours. Henry, Prince of Wales, had the red dragon on his flag and eventually it became the flag of Wales.
Gosh, how did I miss that information. I found it in Wikipedia. I should have read that dozens of times, whenever I looked up the flag.
Maybe I read it before and didn't care. My family just returned from Wales and I'm fact checking. Suddenly, that information jumped out at me. Those people from long ago, with their ambitions and pride, still influencing us today.
