Angela Lansbury between two larger than life puppets (people inside step aside or move forward and wave). Photo by Trevor Sharot.
At Orchard station's new section, the LTR staff members in their black tee-shirts were efficiently organizing the queue (line up the Americans would say) for photos.
The Singapore courtesy campaign has worked well. Earlier this month a passerby who I asked for directions to the Orchard MRT from Marks & Spencer at Wheelock Place in the centre of Singapore said, 'I am not in a hurry - I'll come with you and show you the way.' She took me down two escalators and pointed me in the correct direction.
The new stations on the brown Thomson-East Coast line are: Caldecott, Stevens, Napier, Orchard Boulevard, Orchard, Great World, Havelock, Maxwell, Shenton Way, Marina Bay, Gardens by the Bay.
I got on at Stevens, went all the way to Gardens by the Bay, and stopped off at Orchard on my return.
What did I like?
Stevens Book Mural
From a distance, the grey (gray US spelling) book mural at first looks rather dull. However, in close-up the book titles are amusing.
