Easy Italian words for your holiday, restaurant, opera, or entertainment

Italian flag.

I am enjoyig learning Italian. I am also proud of my progress.

I am encouraged to learn new words every day on Duolingo. All this work is in preparation for a holiday to Italy in 2025.

I am keeping lists of words which are almost the same or similar spelling and the same meaning. The technical term for thsee is cognates.

I also note on a second page those words which are completely different. On a third page I list, those which have similar spelling but confusingly have a totally different meaning.

Here are some of the easy ones, starting with the Italian on the left alphabetically, followed by the English on the left alphabetically. Note that the letter i is used for the masculine plural. A word ending in e is feminine, like the word feminine. A word ending in o is masucline singular, like Romeo.
