How to build a quick log cabin with drop log construction, Australian style

I was looking for 'reduplication' words for my forthcoming ebook on alliteration when I came across the Australian name Bael Bael and the mention that it was a heritage site. I opened the heritage site and found that it was a historic buildings built on the drop log construction method, which seems to be pretty unique to Australia.

My next search was for what is drop log construction. You take two upright posts and make vertical grooves. Then drop into the vertical grooves a series of horizontal small logs or large straight tree branches.

Well I never! Now I know what to do if I am stuck on a desert island. But you do need the tools for making the grooves. More a way for building a garden hut or summer house.

That is not enough for a finished, draught-proof, windproof and waterproof, snow-proof, insect-proof house. After that you have to seal the outside.

But at least it is a quick and easy construction method.
