Where does that milk come from? I asked Magnolia ...

When we first arrived in Singapore, we did a blind taste test. We bought two or more brands of milk, then tried them to see which we liked.

We bothe agreed we liked the brand Magnolia. Now, you might not have the same tastes. Many Asians like condensed milk and pay more for it than fresh milk. It's what they had from mother or granny as a child, back in the days when refrigeration was not the commonly available option, so people stocked up on condensed milk.

To us, from London, England, our modern tastes are different. As a child I liked the full cream milk and my mother would pour the cream top of the milk in the glass jar as a treat, especially to have on strawberries.

Now we opt for semi-skimmed milk because we are trying to lose weight. Eventually you grow to like what is familiar.

Back to Magnolia milk which we buy in Singapore. If you look on the side of the packet, you will find consumer helplines.

I tried googling them and found a Facebook page. I wondered whether their milk came from Malaysia. I asked on the Facebook page.

I got this reply:
Hi Angela, greetings from the F&N Magnolia milk page. Our milk is primarily sourced from Australia.

Not wholly, but primarily.

If you want to know where your milk or other food or drink comes from, check the ingredients, or the consumer helpline listed on the side of the pack, or the Facebook page.
