I was the first speaker at a wellness symposium event called Healing Emotions. the setting was the Frontyard Patisserie, where you are welcomed by a wall of book murals.
Daily Diary
I promoted the idea of writing a daily journal, Dear Diary, to identify and control your emotions, dreams and disappointments. Use a moment in the morning it to focus on your future. Use a moment in the evening to think positively about your past.
Harvard students who wrote down their plans were compared with those who didn't a few years later. The ones who wrote down a list achieved their dreams.
Life Records
Interview elderly members of your family, at least once, ideally weekly. (I created a life story book for my mother-in-law's 90th birthday. My next door neighbours saw it, and asked me to write their life story for their children.)
After you have written a year or more, then use your five-year diary to write your life history for your descendants.
From Blog to Book
A blog is a daily diary on the web so that you can share it with others. Neatly typed instead of scrawled. Turn your insights and blessings into a blog to benefit others. Collect the best blog posts on a theme to create and sell a book. Show the hurdles you climbed successfully to reach happiness.
Carolyn Street has collected our insights into books on emotions, including Fear and Us and Authenticity and Us. (You can buy these anthologies on Amazon.)
Angela Lansbury at the Frontyard Pattisserie which has a mixture of sofas and tables and chairs.
