Road Signs In Romania: rivers, drunks, amazing, amusing and essential parking warning signs

Problems
What do the words and symbols mean in Roumania? Let's start with some of the common ones as you drive out through the countryside.

Answers
The word V a l  e a means valley or vale.

The triple wavy white line on a blue background means water, specifically a river.

The exclamation mark means watch out.

The double hump is not a 'sleeping policeman' (British term for a man made hump installed by local councils to slow traffic mostly in built up areas with housing and pedestrians) but any kind of uneven surface.

Drunks on Road
You might be surprised by this sign. A drunk crawling after a bottle.
Cetateni Turmentati.
Cetateni means citizens in Romanian. The i ending is plural. Turmentati translates as tormented. Basically, drunks in road.  Maybe we should have these signs near pubs in the UK. At closing times drunks may lurch across the road.

A red diagonal line negates the picture behind it. So the sign for Brasov shows you are entering Brasov. The sign saying Brasov with a red diagonal across it means you are now leaving Brasov. (In other words, if you are looking for the town centre, you have gone the wrong way. Time to turn back.) But Brasov followed by another word is not Brasov city but a satellite area.

Tips In Towns
Watch out for the parking signs. The single vertical oblong means no parkings allowed on uneven days, (1st, third of the month and so on, looks like a Roman one. The double parallel lines, like a Roman two, mean no parking on even days, two, four, six, eight and tenth of the month and so on. Make sure you know what day it is.)
