Harley-Davidson Shopping
If you want to buy clothing for yourself or a friend or family member for Christmas or a birthday, Harley-Davidson sell top of the range (price range!) leather jackets, and all kinds of clothing, jewellery and drinking glasses with everything from diamonte skulls on rings to their symbol on tee-shirts and souvenir clothes and bags (drawstring backpacks) related to biking events.
If you want something at more everyday, economical prices, the other American bike museum, the bike hall of fame, sells a large range of tee-shirts and everything you could think of.
Heated Jackets
My favourite, if price is no object, would be the heated jackets which you plug into bike. The heated gloves, oddly, are more or less the same price.
I remember seeing a figure in the 300s, a mouth-dropping three hundred pounds! Well, I thought, that's a lot for a pair of gloves.
For under ten American dollars you can buy a once off heater. The dearer ones last several trips. The cheapest ones only work for an hour or two. You can buy them in shops at a ski resort to stick inside your clothes or hold in your hands.
I suppose £300+ is reasonable for a special jacket or coat. The website suggest that you buy the gloves to go with the jacket and plug into the jacket. That is known as upselling. So then you are in for spending £600+! I think postage will be in addition.
Cost Of Specialist Biker Clothing
Well, I know that if you want to padded leather outfit with reinforced knees and elbows to save your skin if you fall off a bike or get dragged along, you have to pay that sort of price. But, if it provides mental security as well as physical comfort, and saves hospital bills, or your life, it's worth it.
If I look quickly I don't register whether it's pounds sterling or American dollars or Euros. That can make a big difference, depending on the current exchange rate.
American Motorcyclist
American Motorcyclist website offers member discounts and has a find a club section. Ladies, if you prefer a bright red top, and are happy with half the price of the ones with a Harley logo from Harley-Davidson, look around the alternative websites before making a decision.
Websites Pricing According To Your Location
If I sign into a website from the UK or Singapore I am sent the website aimed at the country I am in at the time. This is handy for me.
However, it means I have to do all whole fandango around the internet, changing every website I log into, if I want to adapt website login details and prices for the benefit of the majority of my readers who are logging in from the USA. The readers in the USA are probably mostly Americans living in America but could also be Brits and other visitors on holiday or business trips.
Pre-Trip Shopping Online
Even if you are going to the museums, it's useful to check out the shop's offers online first. Then you can see how much you would save on postage costs if you combine a museum trip with a shopping trip. You can also decide on your budget and save time in the shop by making a beeline for what you want rather than browsing aimlessly or make you find what you really need.

http://www.halfords.com/camping-leisure/outdoor-clothing/outdoor-clothing/hot-hands-hand-warmer-value-pack £3.99 from the pedal bike specialist. Well I never! My son used to work in one of their London shops. No need to go to a ski resort to buy hand warmers. Many other types and suppliers are available. I picked this one because it was the cheapest I saw and it's from a known high street store.
