How do you learn another language?
Answer
Sometimes you struggle and sometimes it just comes easy. I was looking at some traditional foods on the Wikivoyage travel page when a word caught my eye and arrested my attention.
TOCT (toast).
That is so easy to recognize. The c is pronounced s, like our English words police and palace. In English we usually place an 'e' after the 'c' to soften the sound, make it s. However, it is easy to remember that c can be pronounced s.
I can visualise the word for toast, TOCT, only four letters, two the same letter repeated in the start and end of the word in both languages. Just one letter to remember, C is S.
