How can anybody prevent this happening again?

The Iraqi army needs to install sprinklers and fire extinguishers in every major event hall and building. if the Iraqi government can't afford it, call on the richest countries, such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, maybe a consortium. Or the United Nations. Or Go Fundme. Then spread out the same across the Middle East and then the rest of the world, including the UK and the USA. Make 2004 the fire safety year.

And what is being done about cladding? No point just giving money. Let's have accountability. Just like the list outside the toilets in public buildings show when the checks have been made by the person in charge, and the phone number to call ro report any problem observed by the public. Public listings of action taken. No vague promises about lessons will be learned. List the lesson learned, the action to be taken, the deadline for the action, the person responsible, and the funds allocated to all the products, workers and supervisors.
