Afghan Foods In UK Restaurants

Problem
Where is Afghanistan and what are the bordering countries? What would I expect to see, and order in an Afghan restaurant in the UK?

Answers
From Wiki:
Afghanistan is bordered by Pakistan in the south and east; Iran in the west; TurkmenistanUzbekistan, and Tajikistan in the north; and China in the far northeast.

Foods include rice coloured green by spinach, red by tomato, or brown by meat or cooked sugar.
Quorma (I recognize the word Korma from 'Indian' or Pakistani restaurants in the UK) is casserole, often based on onion.

Fruits used in savoury dishes as well as sweet dishes include orange peel and cherries.

Nuts such as pistachios are used in savoury and sweet dishes.

Alcohol is not to be expected. You might get mango lassi, my favourite.

I have met Afghan ladies in the swimming pool and sauna in London. They go to Afghan restaurants in Harrow, Middlesex. Other Afghan restaurants in London include one in Edgware.

I have been into the home of tenants from Afghanistan. At home they eat sitting on the floor on cushions.

They buy and offer visitors very nice pastries from grocery/patisserie shops in or near Hendon. The pastries which were my favourites were in rolled cylindrical shapes with creamy centres.
