Brittany Ferries - Brilliant Features, Bar, Breakfast cafeteria, Buffet Dinner

Brittany Ferries has three areas open to all.

A private premium lounge locks away the frequent travellers in a lounge which requires an annual subscription. The drivers of the Porches and Ferraris disappeared in there.

The truck drivers and motorbikers with tattoos of skulls were happily waiting for the bar to open. Later they were cheering the football goals on TV.

I was taking the art tour, and taking photos of the art work, food and drink.

Bar

You can buy bar food including sandwiches, snacks and drinks. This is in the main area around the staircase, where the quizzes and evening singing entertainment take place. With TV screens showing the news and football finals.

Cafeteria

The cafeteiria has artwork on the walls. If you get there early in the morning you can secure a window seat at breakfast tie and keep that for much of the morning.

I found the sausage very rubbery. The croissant was not up to the standard of my freshly cooked hot croissant every morning at Tesco Express in London. Surprising, as the ship is French.

Azul Restaurant

We booked the Azul Restaurant for dinner on the way out and the way back.

The dinner in the Restaurant Azul was a different class of cooking. I listened to a group of Indians discussing investing in property.

Children were kept away from diners in glass-sided, sound-poofed playroom on one side of the restaurant.

Dinner started with a huge and delicious buffet, boiled eggs cut in half, smoked salmon, salads, nuts. The two buffets were not identical. My husband went right and got smoked salmon. Luckily he was willing to share it with me.

I suggest two courses, buffet starter and main course. I was not over impressed with the dessert full of chantilly lacy, tooth rotting sugar and calories which ruin my diet.

You could also buy food and bottles of wine in the duty free shop to eat in your cabin or save in a cool box. There's no fridge in the bedrooms, at least not in the inside cabins which we booked. When we booked late in the year, all the other cabins were already taken.
