Hotel Life
Old people used to live in hotels. It was common. I saw the last 100-year-old at Peebles hydro hotel in Scotland. This works best in hotels which have an indoor, all-year swimming pool, plus a programme of constant activities to keep you entertained and your mind active so you don't get dementia.
But then the customers died off and the hotels stopped offering the whole year option.
Taiwan
However, you can negotiate. One single worker, a market researcher in Asia, negotiated a permanent arrangement in the suite of a hotel in Taipei, Taiwan. He moved in some of his furniture and belongings. But he was a minimalist.
Another couple, in Singapore, had a year's contract with a hotel. It included the room and room cleaning. Foodwise they were allowed breakfast and either lunch of dinner for both husband and wife, plus two guests twice a week, for entertaining. Also they were allowed two bags of washing a week. They'd either kept or rented out their home back in the USA.
