I keep my camera or mobile phone handy when a passenger in a car or tourist bus in foreign cities and at home to take pictures of museums, exhibitions or interesting shops and buildings. After a council in Britain made a home owner repaint a buildings which was too bright I have started collecting colourful buildings, which seems to be a trend worldwide.
Green building in London, England.
Blue and yellow buildings, London, England.
Cream and pink neighbouring buildings. Here each colour enhances the other. Much easier to find a house for deliveries or a party. You could even name your home: The White House, or The Pink House. White creates a clean look. But does require maintenance.
No problem in Singapore where building owners are required to maintain the condition of homes. (If the property is not given the needed upkeep, the municipal authority will serves notices and then take action and bill the owner. That system preserves a happy ambience, a standard. It also ensures the property prices of neighbours are not sabotaged by nearby neglect.
