This comes from Wikipedia and is the in public domain in the USA because it was taken prior to 100 years after the subject's death. It is also in the public domain in other countries, in this case France.

Jules Verne was at first unlucky in love, mainly because when he was not progressing in his career he was not seen as a good catch. After initial moderate success as an author, he became a great success.
