Problems
Time and date affects you in three ways:
1 At home when wishing happy birthday or happy Christmas you have to be wary of missing the event if your message goes to somebody living or working east of where you are.
2 Traveling east you are likely to arrive a different date. Your airline tickets, restaurant bookings, taxis and hotels are usually marked in local time.
3 Watching or joining video calls.

In British Summer Time these are the times I got (Oct 6 2017)
(The Americans don't say Summer time, they say Daylight time.)
Pacific (LA)-Mountain (Salt Lake/Phoenix)-Central (Chicago)-Eastern (New York)-----UK
10.30 am - 11.30 - 22.30 - 1.30pm(13.30) ---- 6.30pm 18.00
London and Singapore
Singapore is seven hours ahead of London in 'summer' between March and October before the clocks change back at the end of October.
London to Singapore
9 am in London is 4 pm in Singapore. Just in time to suggest taking a photo or going to shops or an evening event such as fireworks.
12 noon, lunchtime in London is 7 pm in Singapore.
They have left work and gone home. Good time for a social call. Not so good for calling a colleague, somebody who has left their office and doesn't want family time interrupted.
3 pm in London is 10 pm in Singapore.
4 pm in London 11 pm in Singapore - the last time I can phone.
Reversing this:
In Singapore at 11 pm before bedtime it will be 4 pm in London - just in time to ask family or colleagues to phone a shop or business before the business closes at 5 pm.
Fill in the dates and time you find useful. Mine would be
Pacific time - Eastern Time - London time - Europe time - Hong Kong Time - Singapore - Australia

For a discussion on daylight saving time click the link on the first page of timeanddate.com (yes, double d in the middle)
and go to the page on daylight saving time.
Interestingly my American hero Benjamin Franklin proposed daylight saving time.
Dual Time clocks
You can buy a dual time watch or clock. Or have two clocks set to different times.
I have visited several hotels which have clocks showing times in different parts of the world above reception. I always thought they were there for amusement. Perhaps they are installed to stop reception phoning customers during the night in other parts of the world and waking them up.
