Problem
How do you find that half-remembered romantic hotel or the ideal place? I was looking for a hotel with Roman remains under the swimming pool in Umbria, Italy.
I looked in Google around the world and found pools, or swimming pools, or Roman pools, in: Bath, England, Pammukkle, Turkey; Algeria; Israel.
In Perugia I found three grand hotels with pools in ASSISI. (Double s first time, single s second time.)
Castello di Petroia
Finally, up comes the hotel I want:

On closer inspection, the remains are not Roman but Etruscan. The Etruscans were 12th-6th century BC and battled with the Romans.
These hotels may be beyond the budget. If so, consider going there for breakfast, lunch, dinner, tea, pre-dinner cocktails. Or pop in to check out the costs of any goodies from the shop or anything you can buy.
