We took Wizzair from Luton to Tirana, the capital of Albania. The early morning start meant losing a lot of sleep. We paid extra for fast track onto the flight and sailed through. We also paid for extra luggage.
The seats on the plane were in two banks of three, with an aisle down the middle. The staff were very pleasant.
We paid extra for extra luggage and fast check in. We did not buy their food in the plane but they had a good choice.
I had an aisle seat but asked the passenger in the window seat to take a photo for me. He happily obliged.
Albanian fields on the flat land around the capital, Tirana, were laid out in neat oblongs. Lakes. And clouds.
The only problem for everybody on arrival at Tirana was you needed local coins for the trolley, and we only had Euros.
Car Collection Challenge
A problem for us was that we booked through Wizz Car. Their office is outside the airport. Nobody inside the airport could direct us, and The instructions were wrong. Car park P no longer existed. It had vanished in the renovation of the airport. We wasted time and effort dragging our suitcases around looking for it. Airport staff did not want us to take the luggage trolley across the road to the car collection office, which we had not yet located. It was 'by the hotel'. But which hotel? We saw three on the right. Somebody in the airpot suggested another hotel out of sight on the left.
On arrival, the girl was busy and told us to wait outside. After five minutes of us standing outdoors in the June afternoon heat, I asked for a chair.
She brought out three stools.
The car had been left empty, so we had to refill straight away, and return it empty.
