At the end of the day on holiday or business you have the hotel and restaurant business cards and brochures. But a week after you get back home you cannot identify your favourite restaurant, nor remember the name of the hotel where you stayed, nor identify the ten temples or cathedrals.
Answer
Take a photo of any signboard on arrival. Get the temple welcome notice or map board. Photograph the hotel name across the front. Snap the menu cover at the restaurant. Photograph the dish you ordered from the menu - especially if it has a strange name and unusual ingredients.
You can also photograph maps before you throw them out or lose them in the filing.
An alternative is to video yourself for just a few seconds saying where you are. You don't want a lot of videos cluttering up camera space. But a quick video just so you can label your photos in the evening or when you get home is handy.
