Rice pudding and Indian sweets. Photo by Angela Lansbury.
We bought it from the Madras kiosk or stall beside the temple in Little India.
The Indian rice pudding is unlike English rice pudding, which has distinctive grains of rice in a thick creamy white sauce. it has a distinctive flavour.
The flavour comes from ground cardamom. Pistachios might be added. The basic ingredients are rice and milk, or cream.
Highly recommended. Very More-ish.
The Indians call it kheer.

Singapore.
10 minutes walk from Little India station. Near two great Indian restaurants, Mr Biriani, and Swaadisht.
Opens 5.30 am, apparently. And serves fresh cow's milk, which is common in India.
