How to avoid missing your last train home

First note down the last train to and from the local station in your diary or notebook.
When going to a new destination note down the last train.

Alarm
Set an alarm on your phone after dinner for well in advance of the last train. Alarms are either under the clock symbol (icon) on an iphone or under settings (looks like a cog wheel) on an LG phone.

Money
Have enough money for a taxi home.

Phone A Friend
Arrange to call friends to say you caught the last train and got home safely. If you are travelling home late, you might want a family member to meet you at the station.

Late Night Buses
Note the time and number and frequency and stops of late night buses.

To ensure your friends catch the last train, you could call a cab to take both of you to their station, drop them off and then go home. You pay for the return trip and save them having to stop to hunt for money at the destination.

Overnight
Have an overnight plan. If they miss the last train or want to talk until the wee small hours, can you make up a bed? Look for sheets and a pillow, or a pillow case to go over a cushion. If you don't have spare night clothes, loan a wrap-around gown or dressing gown.

Note the time of the first train or bus to get them home or to work in the morning.
