For about twenty years I have seen this lovely gentleman in his striking outfit. I finally got around to asking him, "Tell me about the clothes you are wearing. "
He said: "It is the outfit which was worn when Singapore was under British rule - the uniform of the traffic police. White helmet, white socks, long socks and shoes - all in white."
