Marzipan Museum in the UNESCO heritage city of Lubeck in Germany

Water, wine, sweet wine, and sweet food, that's what Germany means to me. Water on the River Rhine and picturesque port cities such as Hamburg and Lubeck.

A side trip from Hamburg is the marzipan museum at Lubeck. They also have more than one outlet selling marzipan and coffee. One branch is opposite the Rathaus or town hall. the Rathaus has distinctive pointed green towers, which are a feature of several buildings in the city. In many German cities the Rathaus or town hall has a historic building, historic paintings and plaques and a restaurant featuring local cuisine.

Inside the town hall is the town hall cellar restaurant.

Also try marzipan cake. Photo in Wikpedia by Bin im Garten.

The US marzipan day is Jan 12, Sunday 12 January in 2020. You have plenty of time to plan a weekend away or a fun day at home with marzipan cake for tea, a marzipan chocolate for everybody, or a marzipan gift for a birthday boy or girl.
