Spray carpet and clothes moth killer everywhere. When you are at home rummaging around and vacuum cleaning you are disturbing the moths which eat your clothes and carpets. While you are away, they can chew away undisturbed. Unless you disturb them before you leave. So after that last minute breakfast do not leave crumbs behind.
1 Empty all bins. Wash the bins. Dry bins and all surfaces which are supplying drink for insects. Place lids down on toilets. Wipe kitchen sink and bathroom basins dry.

2 Vacuum and sweep the kitchen. (You have done all the other rooms the day before, haven't you!)
Vacuum underneath furniture, moving it if possible and along windowsills. Remember to do the bases of chairs and the vacuum cleaner itself.
3 Spray following the directions. Note if you have to leave a spray or powder on for some time and then vacuum clean.
4 Empty the vacuum cleaner bag.
My friends who live in the tropics leave their wardrobe doors open to prevent mould and frequently shake out their clothes.
Make sure everything hanging or folded in the cupboards is washed, to eliminate remnants of sweat, skin and hair which attract insects looking for meals.
