I just spent ages looking for doorkeys for all keys for a flat, the building door, the flat front door, all the windows, internal doors.
It was an interesting exercise. the moral is, have a tag on every key.
What you need is a method, not madness.
If you are worried about security, have a hidden key box with ooks and a list of contents, or key book book, number the keys and keep a key to the numbers such as Key A front door, Key Bedroom door (or window). Also have duplicates of all keys.
You can buy sets of lightweight plastic keychains on which you can write, in major key cutting kisks in shopping malls.
On most of them it is easy to slide the paper inside through the slit at one end. If you can't get out the paper on which to write, make a sticky white label from an address label cut to size. Write neatly using a ruler or straight surface to guide the pen. Stick the label on the outside of the tab.
