The Lake at Swanwick. Photo by Angela Lansbury. Copyright.
Some writers sat by the lake and wrote poetry. Some people walked around the lake to walk off the cake.
The lake contains fish. Warning signs say that it is deep.
The Lake
by Angela Lansbury
On sunny days enjoy the lake
Where waters mirror breezy sky
The water's calm, with soothing charm
Green lake, so deep with high blue sky
On winter days we fear the lake
Where grey waters mirror grey sky
We write of fallen leaves, heartbreak
The chill ghosts of the drowned, nearby
You hear the silence of the lake
Soft trees reflected in your mind
The lake gives what you want to take
Words paint bright pictures for the blind.
