Jane Austen, Worth Ten Pounds?

Problem
When did Jane Austen live?

Answer
16 December 1775 – 18 July 1817

That is why she is being celebrated on 18 July, 2017.  The UK ten pound note featuring her face and possessions was not launched today, but displayed today at Winchester Cathedral. Winchester Cathedral where she is buried is shown on the front of the note in gold and on the back in silver.

Naturally everybody associated with promoting Winchester and Winchester Cathedral is extremely excited, as are Jane Austen fans, feminists, writers, readers, teachers, the British tourist board, the Bank of England, intrigued overseas visitors, just about everybody. Expect another flurry of news about Jane Austen when the note is released.

Dates and Objects For You
1 Jane Austen's image will be on the £2 coin.
2 Jane Austen's image is on the forthcoming £10 note.

You could frame the new £10 note. As a tribute to Jane Austen. As a conversation starter. As an inspiration to write books. Or as a reminder to save money.

Use a frame with a removable back. Then if you run short of money you can take the note out and spend it. As Mr Bennett might have said to Lizzie.

Quotations from Jane Austen
Happiness in marriage is entirely a matter of chance.
It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a fortune but be in want of a wife.
Nobody minds having what is too good for them.
On the banknote:
I declare after all there is not enjoyment like reading.
